Very sick and ex unhelpful

So here I am really sick. At the hostipal yesterday. Pneumonia. Cannot look after my kids well so I called the ex to have them for a few days. He lives 80 miles away. He won't come and collect them. My friend stayed with me last night and she lives in the same place as him. Her own car was driven back there last night by her daughter. My ex wants my friend to drive my car with the kids to him leaving me with no car and no real plan for my car to be returned. There is no public transport. Another worry.

Sorry you’re not well. Does your ex work? Maybe he’s having difficulty having time off?

You have my sympathy, my car broke down and my ex refused to go and pick our daughter up from work at 10pm after the last bus because it was too far, it's 9 miles, so her boyfriend's dad picked her up which was around trip of 30 miles. Wanker.

How old are the kids?

southernharp · 20/08/2018 22:56

They are 12. And he doesn't seem to struggle to get time off normally. He has one of those bullshit jobs where you are not missed if you're not there.

He sounds like a dick.
To be honest though, if your DC are 12 then they shouldn’t really need looking after in the way younger children do?
Can they not just stay home with you and entertain themselves/look after you for a few days?
Most 12 year olds should be capable of making themselves (and you) basic meals and generally taking care of things indoors for a few days.
Hope you feel better soon op Flowers

Sorry you're ill OP Thanks
Is there any possibility of them getting the train up if your friend puts them on and ex picks them up the other end?
I'd be telling him I'd put them in a cab and let him pay at the other end. But I'm horrible Wink
