As the title suggests. We are completely stumped for ideas. We (parents + siblings) are going away for the weekend but db and I would really like to give them a gift too. We are both pretty skint. He thought a photo album but they arent really photo people.
All ideas welcome. Thanks.

My parents just had Ruby Wedding and I'm a bit skint at mo.

I. Got a champagne sticker from amazon I think which was personalised with their names on and vintage 1978 and little message at bottom from me. Got a champagne type bottle from Aldi - £4:99 and gold foil on outside. Stuck label on and looked great. I bought Ruby anniversary cake topper with their names on and baked a sponge cake - they loved the thought and it tasted great. I also made heart biscuits with white icing and then used one of those little red tube of icing that you get when you buy decorate a gingerbread man kit. I did alternate hearts or number 40 and one larger one with initials and heart round them.

Also got a lucky sixpence for Ruby Wedding and made homemade card from my son. On day took photo of all family ( used timer on phone camera) and printed it off and got frame in sale. And gave as memory of the day.

Hope some of my ideas help xxx

Homemade seems to have gone down well - perhaps personalised poem or storybook or print key photos through their life and made a homemade journal or canvas? X

I was really lucky, a couple of years before my parents golden wedding I was clearing out dome of my deceased grandmothers things and found an invitation sent by my maternal grandmother to my paternal grandparents.

I framed it and kept it until their golden wedding. I also got them Champagne and a sixpence from the year of their wedding.

For their 40th I got them wine from a local vineyard with personalised labels.

How about an empty photo frame and then when you are away take a nice photo of everyone together to put in it.

A newspaper from the day of their wedding?

What are they interested in?

Do they drink?
Do they garden?
Do they have hobbies?

Thanks all. They are big gardeners so i think that is the way to go.
