Has anyone ever successfully sold anything....

On Facebook marketplace? After putting a few bits on a local group it prompted me to add them to marketplace....and really the place is full of really odd people! I’m getting messages in different languages, nonsense messages I can’t make sense of, people repeatedly asking if the items are free (they have prices on) and, my favourite, the question ‘is a baby rocker suitable for a 4 year old’.....

I have just sold a few bigger baby bits. If you are willing to sell cheap then you will usually sell within a day.

Years ago when it first started.
It's hopeless these days.

I buy quite a bit of smaller house furniture on there fairly successfully, never been a seller though!

Only on the most local ones and usually I know the buyers!

@StorminaTCut their first message is always just the standard ‘is this available’ though, so I respond - and then I get crazy back

Yes I have.
Quite successful so far:
A bed frame plus mattress.
Ergo plus new born insert.
DVD cabinet.
Bin liner of boys clothes.
Table and chairs.
An Ikea bench.

All sold quickly too. It’s so random.

Yep. I "sold" a sofa. Only it was free and it took 3 weeks of people not turning up and about 3000 messages. Never again
