Can't stop shouting at DS

DS 4 (nearly 5) presses all my buttons and recently I've been losing my temper and shouting at him. I know it makes things worse, i know I shouldn't do it but I just can't seem to stop. I've tried counting and leaving the room but it seems to take forever for the anger to dissipate. I'm taking quite a strong contraceptive pill for my endometriosis and I wondered if that's affecting my mood. DH is amazing and does a large amount of parenting and stuff round the house so I shouldn't be burned out. I have another DS of 18m and he's much more straightforward so far.... Help?

Don't have much advice but thought I'd let you know you're not alone. Currently calming down after losing my shit with DS half an hour ago. Don't enjoy being a shout mum and I don't even think it works he's just probably thinking ah she's shouting again! DS is so difficult to reason with so it's hard not to shout. This parenting lark is fun hey Hmm
