Does your child wear sunglasses? What would you think if a stranger tried to helpfully point out the dangers of wearing cheap glasses which don't have UV protection? How would you react? Would you be grateful for the information or pissed off at the interference?

My friend and I are in complete disagreement over this, so I'm posting here so I can show her how you all agree with me Grin

Cheap sunglasses can still have uv protection. Sounds like an interfering busybody

I think they should mind their own business in this case. Can I share my Unsolicited advice story?

I was in TKMax buying some sandals. I am middle aged and have bought shoes on a relatively large number of occasions, quite successfully, on my own.
So I had 3 or 4 pairs that were, you know, my size ( using the helpful number on the sole) and I popped on these really nice sandals and this total random looks at me and says “too big” and I smile and say, “No they’re fine”, no she says “Too big for you”. So I check she’s not my mum or one of my teens, nope, a total random. So I say, “ well they’re not too big, they are my size, that I always wear”. “Huh” tuts, turns round.
This was months ago but It bugged me! ( I bought them and they are fab)

If someone wants your opinion then they'll ask for it IMO - rather like the OP here! I would think an unsolicited opinion from a stranger on the street was rude and intrusive.

I thought the whole cheap sunglasses thing had finally been proved to be nonsense and we are all ok to buy our £2 H&M sunniest now?

Namechangeforthiscancershit · 20/08/2018 17:32

Regardless though, no I wouldn’t appreciate the advice

Glad you all agree with me. Now I can show her what a complete fool she's making of herself.
