Would you consider taking a baby to the Florida Keys, on a budget?

We're looking to go away for around 10-14 nights in October... budget less than 2K for flights and accommodation

Would we be mad to take a baby? We are looking at other nearer destinations but not so warm

I've seen deals that come within budget for very basic accommodation (we could self cater) but not sure if the flight would be too much or if it wouldn't be worth going until we have a bit more spending money for activities

One big reason it appeals to me is we know that the healthcare etc is of a good standard if we had any problems with our baby (I'm a bit worried about taking her away though she's touch wood been very healthy so far!)

Thanks!

How old is the baby?

It's hurricane season so I wouldn't personally want to be in the Keys then due to bad weather, but obviously people live there year round.

With the exchange rate I'm not sure how cheap it is?

What about Oman? Weather in October will be great and healthcare is good.

I don't think Florida is really a budget holiday.

No, I wouldn't.

There are lots of places that I would take a baby before the Keys. Try Cyprus maybe?
