Do you pick up all the tiny little toy pieces?

Every day, every day of my life I pick up tiny bits of toys. Lego, playmobile, jigsaws, sets of letters, magnetic numbers, crayons, just pieces and pieces of plastic and card. What am I doing with my life?!

My brother in law says he did it too, Lego kits all sorted, playmobil models rebuilt, card games sorted... my sister says she just shoved all the bits in a corner!

Do you pick up and put together sets of gift toys or just have a pile?

I find the vaccum does this job perfectly well.

I have a box of duplo, box of wooden blocks, box of toy cars and box of other shite in my front room. Box of wooden train set stuff in child's bedroom.

I do sort things into those categories, but anything that doesn't fit into the boxes means that something goes in the donate to charity bag.

So for example a jigsaw will end up all somewhere in the Other Shite box I.e.all in one place and usable, but will be got rid of once it is the least played with thing in that box and there is some other bit of shite that needs to fit in the box.

You can’t be too fussy but it’s a shame to let things become useless because they are all over the place. Sometimes there’s no winning though. I spent 1.5 hours cleaning under my daughters bed because there was so much Lego that needed sorting.

My kids were taught to put something away properly before pulling out the next batch. Took a while to get the hang of it and once a year I might need a sort out myself but in the main it keeps toys together and off the carpet.
We've always had digs so not been able to leave bits lying around as they tend to be perfect snack items.

For digs read dogs!

No, I make the DC do it. They’re 4 and 3 and know everything must be away by bedtime.

Oh God, I feel your pain. I spend 90% of my life picking up tiny things from the floor...My dd is obsessed with kinder egg toys!
