Usable bathroom cabinet!

I need some shopping assistance! I am looking for a bathroom cabinet that will fit on the wall with mirrors. I need to be able to store the children’s toothbrushes (electric ones), shampoo and preferable the toilet cleaner and a spare toilet roll in it. I am struggling to find anything that’s a sensible height or depth to hold these items in, and I really don’t want to be the mad lady going round Ikea putting things in the cabinets! I am also trying to avoid an under the sink unit due to keeping the cleaners up high.

Wise shoppers of MN, where did you get your practical cabinets from?

Ikea, sorry! They are quite shallow (to fit behind door) but they fit everything you've listed. Toilet rolls maybe get a bit squashed but I'm not fussy.

This is the current situation... madness!

Which Ikea one though? they have to many on the website, and by the time I have reached the bathroom department I have forgotten why I am there - give me specifics and something to aim for!

Is your sink under the shelf?

If it's too deep it gets in the way when you brush your teeth so you might be better off with shallow but tall.

Most bathroom cabinets seem to be 600mm tall.

I have a tall cabinet that stands on the floor - can fit loads in.

CustardOmlet · 19/08/2018 21:58

The sink is under the window, the toilet is under the cabinet - the children stand on the toilet to brush their teeth!

It’s a odd shaped bathroom and although I would love a full height cabinet it would have to be against a diagonal wall and would be annoying.

The Ikea Hemmes is one toilet roll deep.

There is a wider one. The wider the better.

Oooh @SavoyCabbage that looks like a winner! Ikea is a small treck but I’m sure I can put a shopping list together and eat meatballs while I’m there. Now do you think they will let me adjust the shelves while I’m there?

I have the full height, slim cabinet with mirrored door from IKEA - it's like Mary Poppins' handbag!

Also have the Godmorgan sink unit which is amazing storage

IKEA staff are keen to help I've always found

you can't be anymore awkward than me when I went bathroom storage/sink/tap shopping!!

carnivalisover · 19/08/2018 22:14

Bathstore have a good range and have a sale on.

ChishandFips33 · 19/08/2018 22:15

Lillangen...that's ours - thanks Espresso

They are fab aren't they!?

CustardOmlet · 19/08/2018 22:17

The under the sink units would be my dream but I’m not great (seriously shit) at dusting and the dust will be grim between the basin and the top of the cabinet. When I eventually get the bathroom replaced there will be a complete sink/cabinet thing.

Also a complaint to @MNHQ the strike through does not work on my ipad - very unhelpful!

I went to The Bath Store - the man was clearly not bothered about making a sale, he just gave me a catalogue and let me walk out! I still need to look through that.

Lillengen is deep so you need to make sure they (or you) won’t bang in to it when you are using the toilet.

CustardOmlet · 19/08/2018 22:21

The wall Lillangan doesn’t look very tall on the website, will it fit toilet cleaners and other crap on another shelf?

Ive measured and have 69cm width to fit the cabinet
