What's the going rate for the tooth fairy these days?

DS is vibrating with excitement about having his first wobbly tooth (I'm desperately trying to get myself back into the habit of having some change knocking around so our tooth fairy doesn't end up leaving an IOU). So what's the going rate these days? How generous is the tooth fairy when she visits your kids?

DS was the last i’m his class to lose a tooth. I asked around and consensus was £1.

£1 for a tooth in good condition, less if they ever have cavities (none yet).

2 pound coin here to be a bit special.

One gold coin (£1) here too.

Good to know I'm not being hideously mean compared with the average (DH was surprised I intended to give £1 a time and not £2 - spendthrift )

We gave £2 for his first (DH's idea) then I put my foot down and it's £1 for all the rest.
I got 20p back in the 80s.

DD lost her first one a couple of weeks ago. She got £2 as it was her first one. I told her the tooth fairy gives more for the first one. She was just excited that she’d been.

I got £1 for a tooth about 25 years ago.
When my ds starts losing teeth in a couple of years I'll prob give him £1 per tooth as well.
Inflation obvs hasn't had an impact on tooth fairy rates.

I give £2. £1 per tooth is a lot of teeth to lose before you can buy anything half decent
