Accident today my stupidity caused toddler cut his head open- been in hospital all afternoon it looks horrific poor baby. They’ve glued it twice and we need to see plastic surgeon on tues to see if he needs stitches.
My poor baby boy I feel so desperately sad for him and sick with guilt.

How are you today? I hope the plastics team is happy with the glue, but please try not to worry if he needs a GA, he will be totally fine.

I hope YOU are feeling much better now and it was just the shock causing you so much stress. It was an accident, it was just unfortunate that he landed in such a way that resulted in so much blood etc. It’s something pretty much every parent will have done, more than once, it’s just good luck that they usually have a softer fall onto carpet or wooden flooring. Pure luck.

Let us know how you are doing and how you get on today.

The most embarrassing incident I’ve had has been my two year old bottle flipping a frozen ice bottle and it landed on my 9 year olds eye! Massive egg on the eye, looked at it and thought “shiiiiiiiiit a and e”.
My 9 year old wasn’t too concerned about his vision or the pain but said “ my face my beautiful face”. Then had to have an interview with the school family liason officer about it.

Thinking of you, Carbie and hoping all's gone okay with the hospital check

my accident story is old...it happened to my brother many, many years ago. My DM was in hospital and my DF was looking after the two of us. We'd not long been in the house and the previous occupants had left drain cleaner in a lucazade bottle under the sink.

My brother aged about 18 months drank it! He was rushed to hospital...all very emergency...I actually remember it even though I was only 3 at the time.

According to my DM who went to see him, from her hospital bed. When he came in the staff were shocked that such a preventable accident had happened and poor like lamb...my brother did look angelic when he was little all blond curls and long eyelashes(not so much now!). By the time he'd been in a couple of days and caused endless other accidents, including flooding the ward and spilling an ink bottle over the ward records ( I did say it happened a long time ago) while being held by a specialist...the nurses were amazed my parents had managed to keep him out of hospital for so long.

He went on to have many, many more accidents but no lasting effects other than a nose that zigzags because he's broken it so many times.

Accidents happen.

Strawberry that's spookily similar to my white spirit/lemonade bottle story about my sister. Back in the day you could buy cleaning chemicals 'loose' if you took your own bottle. Can see why that that was stopped. H&S is really a good thing.

Quick update: plastics happy to leave it as is with the glue. They said if we’re not happy in future they could look at a revision surgery but they don’t think this is likely as hopeful it will heal well so fingers crossed. Now I just need to get that horrible day out of my mind and keep fingers crossed ds recovers quickly. Thanks all
