Gym gear

Where do you buy yours? I’ve got from Tesco & Sainsbury’s but only worn them a handful of times & the waist elastic is already really poor & I need to keep pulling them up when exercising.

I am losing weight so I didn’t want to spend a lot of money but I need them to stay up!

Any suggestions?

I like my Matalan cropped leggings. Good waist band that stays up

I tend to pay a bit more for quality to be honest gym gear gets quite a workout (pun intended) and tends to go on a 40 degree wash so needs to be quite strong.

Most of mine is from Reebok and I either wait for a sale or take DD and use her student discount. I’ve got a pair of leggings that are worn and washed around twice a week and are still great after a couple of years...

DD has Reebok and Nike and hers is well used as she is a real gym bunny and her stuff is still in great condition.

Higher State from sportsshoes.com, or google Tikiboo and Sturdy by Design. All have drawstring waist ties.

ComtesseDeSpair · 19/08/2018 15:03

Decathlon, and I think it’s great. Not pricey either. But I’ve also had decent-wearing stuff from Tesco - how are you washing it? If you wash in a high temperature and fast spin cycle it will degrade the fabric which could be what’s happening with the elastic qualities in yours.

I never wear leggings to run or to the gym. But the most comfortable shorts i have are Karrimor from Sports Direct. I have 3! I have tops from TK Maxx and Primark.

Sandstormbrewing · 19/08/2018 16:17

Sweaty Betty but only ever in the sale!

Pinkstars2501 · 19/08/2018 16:45

Decathlon. I prefer high waist leggings for running, because else by belly flaps about Grin .

I recently got a jazzy pink/purple pair for about £11 and they are the best I’ve owned. My expensive Adidas ones roll down even though they’re meant to be high.

Marmite27 · 19/08/2018 16:51

I’ve got a few bits of la gear from sports direct

MrsJBaptiste · 19/08/2018 16:54

I live my long gym bottoms from Tesco, by far the best fit I've had and wash brilliantly. My stuff goes through the wash 4-5 times a week and still looks brand new 👍

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 19/08/2018 17:05

TK Maxx have leggings, vests and t shirts from decent brands like Elle and Sketchers. My Sainsbury’s stuff is OK too, except for one pair of leggings whose elastic waist thing broke.

AlbertaSimmons · 19/08/2018 17:07

Sweaty Betty sale. Can't beat it for quality and stands up to frequent washing. I've stopped buying from anywhere else.

LittleMissA · 19/08/2018 17:09

My daughter and I are big fans of tikiboo leggings, they are around £30 (less for kids) and quite brightly coloured but brilliant quality. I run in mind and they never budge, they're squat proof, wash well and are so comfortable and flattering. For a cheaper alternative, lid l active/running wear is very good as well.

Stinkbomb · 19/08/2018 17:11

Def recommend Tikiboo but I've also heard that Decathlon stuff is good.
I've had my Nike leggings for a few years and they're still going strong.

CherryBlossom23 · 19/08/2018 17:12

I get leggings from TK Maxx (Elle ones are good IMO, they sometimes have Reebok or Puma too). I also got two pairs of Ronhill leggings in a major sale in a local running shop. They are pricey but super comfy and last for ages. Nice and thick too so no risk of seeing your pants when squatting! TK Maxx some times have Ronhill too. I find the exercise stuff in Primark really small - I'm normally an 8 there but could barely squeeze into a 12 exercise t-shirt recently Hmm

GreyBird84 · 20/08/2018 07:54

Thanks for the suggestions will look them up. I wash them in 40 degree with no softener or anything. And I havnt lost enough weight to justify them falling down Confused. never heard of tikiboo

Sports direct! Great bands low price 👍🏻

rosettesforjill · 20/08/2018 08:09

When you're at goal weight, definitely treat yourself to some Sweaty Betty - it's gorgeous and my running top has lasted me years and years (at least 6 I think!) and still looks and feels great.

Nike stuff discounted in Sports Direct also tends to last pretty well and is comfortable Smile
