We're off to a birthday party for one of dd1's friends soon.

I cba to shift from my comfy seat where I'm MN-ing and drinking coffee

We're off to soft play. DS1 is really excited that I'll be able to play with him because DH can hold DS2. I'm secretly thinking I'd prefer to sit and feed the baby...

MossyOilTank · 19/08/2018 09:59

I've managed to get up and put on yesterday's clothes. Got as far as the kitchen, now perched on a stool with a cuppa.

DH will sleep for a while yet, he didn't get home from work until the middle of the night. DD is playing on the Xbox, DS is practising for being a teenager and lying in bed late.

DH off to work again this afternoon so the DC and I are home alone. A walk with the dog then a film this afternoon I think. Any Netflix recommendations for me, an 8 and an 11 year old?

Right, better put the dishes away and check the weather forecast before putting the washing out ...

lucysmam · 19/08/2018 09:59

We haven't been to soft play in ages. Dd2 spends the whole time we're there coming back to check I'm where she left me (8yo).

She'll likely do the same today too.

Dd1's mates tend to include her in whatever they're doing though so she might get busy & not.

I've got to go and get ready now...

I live in a small Close in the north of England, it's raining.
The tenants committee is putting on a summer gala day today for the wider community.

I'm on the arts and crafts stall all day, glitter,
Glue and repeat.

Half of the neighbours aren't talking to each other.
It's raining.

Do I win the thread? Grin

lucysmam · 19/08/2018 10:01

It's forecasting cloudy with a chance of showers here Mossy. Better than the rain I was expecting!

Your dc's are the same age as mine - they don't tend to watch films though. They put them on then chatter through them & drive me nuts!

Grin Zoflora I love arts and crafts! Would much rather be doing that all day.

I really need to shift my arse!!

Film wise I would recommend The Greatest Showman. It's fantastic!

Susiesue61 · 19/08/2018 10:05

I need to go and get ready for work 😕
Im on call so there's no set start time but I do need to move soon!

MossyOilTank · 19/08/2018 10:05

They will probably get distracted and I'll get cross!

Thanks Zoflora. Um, good luck today ...?!

gingeristhenewblack43 · 19/08/2018 10:13

North East England here and it's rained all night, so garden is soaked. Going to be a cloudy but dry day. I'm sitting with a cuppa and DD is on youtube.

Best get cracking and get us both ready as DD is going out for lunch with her dad while I pack for our hols tomorrow.

Then her BFF is coming over later so they can trash my house Hmm

YouBetterWORK · 19/08/2018 10:30

I need to get up too. I've had a week of broken sleep (not DD waking she's been great, just my own stupid body waking up through the night!) Anyway, after feeding DD this morning, DH took her downstairs so I could get some more sleep. That is until the usual long man crap in the downstairs loo meant I woke to DD loud grizzling and mum guilt sent me getting up. DH then came back took her off the playmat where I'd been lying down knackered, and over to play the piano!!! He suggested (not that nicely cause he's tired too of course!) that I went back up, but of course I can't sleep.

I could still hear grizzling, sent a message to say bring her up to me but after that, NOW, oh yes, NOW all is quiet downstairs. And it's nearly half ten, mum guilt is raging and we've got stuff to do so I better drag my arse out. More guilt later to come, as she's moving into big cot and nursery tonight, as she's started to pull herself upright if you sit her in the crib, so only a matter of time until she can sit herself up and it becomes a danger.

That was a very feeling sorry for myself rant there, I know people have it a lot worse than that!

Zoflorabore · 19/08/2018 10:35

Thanks :)

Currently watching gazebos flying around the Close and trying not to laugh.
Gonna be a long day...

Come back tonight everyone and we can have a catch up.

MossyOilTank · 19/08/2018 10:50

Got to get away before I can come back ... Blush

In my defense the kitchen is slightly less filthy but I'm having another brew before I do anything else. Quite tempted to take the "if you can't beat them, join them" perspective and go back to bed!

MossyOilTank · 19/08/2018 10:50

You, it gets better. It takes a while, but it does Flowers

lucysmam · 19/08/2018 11:00

I'm dressed & so are the girls

15 mins & we'l think about heading out for the bus :)

I came to sleep on the sofa in the early hours and I’m still here, dog lying on me, cats playing like idiots. Family party later which I’m dreading so I’m happy to stay here a bit longer. Everyone else is still sleeping.

MossyOilTank · 19/08/2018 16:41

How did we all get on? We've done ok ... washing well underway, kitchen and living room tidied and floors hoovered, dog and children walked, shopping picked up and I managed to squeeze in a chat with DH about whether he should apply for a promotion.

Now installed in front of The Greatest Showman ... I hate musicals but I can make an exception for Hugh Jackman Grin and the kids are rapt. Thanks for the recommendation Zoflora ... hope you didn't get knocked out by a stray gazebo!

lucysmam · 19/08/2018 17:36

We got in an hour ago.

They had a giant, inflatable, obstacle course so everyone stayed until it was collected! I am now ready for a glass of wine...it's very tiring supervising dc's running riot on inflatables Grin

Both girls are watching different Youtube videos - the noise in my living room is delightful Confused

I'd forgotten about The Greatest Showman, Mossy, I quite enjoyed it!

All ok, long day though. DD we think is either teething or growth spurt...she is a little grizzlepants at the moment either way! We sorted out curtains for the nursery, and DH put the cot together. She's been down since 9.20, took a while to calm down from grizzle mode to sleep mode Grin I've just been MN and staring at the monitor the whole time though!

Zoflorabore · 20/08/2018 07:48

Hi all, I survived! Just about...

It was pretty much a shambles, rain and wind all day. My lovingly set up craft table had me chasing Pom Poms down the road, glitter flying through the air and kids only coming under the gazebo to keep dry.

It took forever to clean up and I got in, made tea and was in bed early with a bag of Malteser buttons ( they definitely help with trauma situations Grin )

That's it for another year thank god.

Hope everyone has a good Monday.

bluechameleon · 20/08/2018 23:19

We got on ok. I did have to do a bit more climbing than I'd like, but I quite enjoyed going down the slides. In the afternoon I walked to Tesco with both children while DH did some housework. Not the most exciting day but nice enough.
