If your chip shop cooks the fish with the skin on under the batter - are you meant to eat that?

Scots on holiday in England, we’re baffled.

I'm in the North and fish is always battered without skin up here. When in Torquay I was given a battered fish with skin on, it knocked me sick. 🤢
