Sleepovers! Bed? Rules?

DS is at the age now (8) where he and his friends are begging for sleepovers, and we've said yes to the first one. I'd rather he had them here than went elsewhere! (PFB)

What rules should we set? Thinking lights out at 10pm?

Is a Z-Bed ok? I hate blow up beds!

All tips appreciated!

Limit invitees!

There will be begging for “midnight feasts” - midnight does not have to mean midnight!

Z-beds fine but get more than one to avoid the who gets the bed conversation. Sleeping bags easier than duvets etc.

Wouldn’t have more than one child at a time - too much at their age! Lights out 9, I insist all are asleep by 10 as I want to go to bed and I think they are too little to stay awake if I am not awake. Start early and you’ll be in with a fighting chance. I sit outside the door at 10 to get them to go to sleep. My 8 year old went for a sleepover where they didn’t go to sleep until 2 - she was an absolute horror the next day and because of that I would think twice about sending her there again.

One child at a time.

Let them pick their favourite tea.

Movie.

Usher toward bed at 9:30, lights out at 10.

I leave them to talk, but TBH they're out for the count by 10:30 latest.

Oh and NO electronics in the bedroom.

Definitely one child at a time, any more is unmanageable. Lights out by 9.30.

OK, good tips so far!
