Rental student house, I'm not living there at the moment but a friend is. For the whole year, and according to the previous tenants for the whole two years they were there, there has been intermittent dripping of water through the kitchen ceiling in one spot, which we thought was caused by the shower. We've reported this to agents several times and had the shower repaired by reputable tradesmen. Last time the maintenance guys came, they said if it continued, it definitely wasn't anything to do with the shower.
Today one panel of the ceiling has completely collapsed and a fair amount of water came out, like it had been pooling up there. My housemate tells me it had only started leaking again yesterday, but I can't be sure if this is true. Since its only my house until the end of the month I'm not too bothered - except that I'm worried we might get charged to fix it! Do you think this is likely? The landlord has never charged us for any repairs before.
