My washing got soaked do I need to rewash it?

Put some washing out yesterday afternoon (two big loads) and totally forgot about it!

It was out all night and has now got soaked as it’s been raining all morning.

Should I leave it out until the sun is back to dry it, bring it in and dry on an airer, or start again?

Me and DH can’t agree on whether it needs rewashing!

I would leave it out til it dries. But you're going to get the darked on and touched with spider willies brigade. Grin

I think it's wasteful to rewash it. If it was sopping, I might put it on for a spin but usually I just leave it as it is.

I don't bother unless it looks dusty - rain sometimes contains particles from the atmosphere. I did the same on Thursday and just let it dry out yesterday - fine now!

It's not just the rain, you'll need to wash the dark off Grin.

It's all going to be fine.

If it looks clean, and it smells clean then it's fine. I never rewash if it gets a soaking on the line. Rain is just water.

I would probably put it through a rinse and spin cycle if your machine has one. Just to freshen it and spin as much moisture out as possible so it dries quicker.

But it will be fine if you don’t. I’m Irish - if my mum had re-washed every load of washing that got rained on we would never have had dry clothes to wear!

I left it out and despite being overcast it has dried, smells fine and I’ve brought it in and folded it up despite the dark and rain it was exposed to!
