Holiday Park in the UK for 2019 summer holiday

We've just done a week at Haven's Haggerston Castle and loved it. So, planning next summer's adventure and decided to stay in the UK again.

We love beaches, walks, swimming and generally being outdoors and having a go at new activities. Kids will be 11 and 6 next summer.

Looking to book somewhere for a week with lots of things to do locally (within an hours drive) as well as nearby town for nice places to eat if we fancy.

Don't want to travel too far from home (Scotland) so ruled out anything south of Birmingham. We also like a bit of luxury, so caravan not tent, and if money allows lodge would be perfect!

So. where would you all recommend?

Might be a bit too close to Hagerston Castle for you, but we love Berwick Holiday Centre.

Had many a lovely holiday at California Cliffs as a child.

I have taken my DC's to Hafan u Mor in Wales which we enjoyed, close to snowdonia, lovely beaches and castles. Our favourite is Woolacombe though.

Berwick one ruled out as we'd like to explore another region before going back to Northumberland.

Tell me more about the one in Wales, fancy hill walking for a day or two.

There's a Haven in the Lake District right next to a lake, so it has activities like kayaking and paddle boarding. In late July there's a large steam fair very nearby with loads of traditional rides. It's close to a Go Ape and Treetop Nets.

This one is in the Lake District but it's Park Dean resorts.

Or you could try the YHA (Youth Hostelling Association), they've got lots of family friendly hostels which have self catering as well as onsite restaurant.
