It's a dmil one I'm afraid. Dh's younger brother has always had lots of financial help. Dh struggles when he sees it as it's very unfair but on the plus side we're not beholden to pil. They've bought dbil 2 cars (brand new), paid his insurance, council tax and offered a lump sum to help purchase a home. Dh has a similarly paid job but 3dc so money has been tight at time (especially when dc no 2 was twins).
Anyway, dh is really chuffed he's paid off his student loan and mentioned it to his dm who, rather than saying "oh that's good news!" Replied with "oh, you db paid his off years ago!" (Maybe it's easier without having to pay out for a car or council tax etc
). Now Dh feels crap and like hi db is golden boy. I hate how dmil makes him feel.
