Quick film recommendation for me and ds

I unexpected find myself home alone with ds1 who is 12. Recommend us a good film? Usually we have to accommodate 2 younger kids so this time we could watch something a bit more grown up.
I think he would quite like something historical, factual, ww2, titanic sort of thing. Disaster movie we couldn't watch with the younger ones? My mind has go e blank under pressure

Darkest hour?

This may not be what you’re looking for but I watched The Pusuit of Happyness with 13 yr old ds and he loved it.
San Andreas is a good disaster movie but we also loved sharknado which is mad but very entertaining.

Arrival?

Aliens arrive from out of space but there's also quite a profound story

Ooh I.bought Darkest Hour on Amazon prime sale the other day but I haven't watched it yet. Do you think he would be able to follow what's going on?

I've never heard of Arrival, I'll look it up now
