Nice little thread for a Friday again.

*How're you all spending your Friday evening?
*
I'm going to step into a hot bubble bath soon with my book and candles and then settle down on the sofa, either with a film or some more reading. I might even have a cheeky slice of cake and a brew too.

Enjoy your Friday and weekend xx

DH is cooking curry then we are all going into town to get an ice cream and watch the free summer fireworks on the pier 😊

inso · 17/08/2018 17:43

Trying not to kill the children.

Have a busy weekend planned and we were busy yesterday so thought we'd have a lazy day in the house. What a mistake. I'm counting down until bedtime.

The youngest, 2, "lost" the tablet while I was napping relaxing so i sent them to find it whilst i was making their dinner. No success. I told them no pudding after dinner until it was found. Cue mad panic.

I spotted it under the couch when they were eating dinner. I'm going to send them upstairs to look for it again until my stress levels lower...

I would open a bottle of wine but I'm low carbing but would rather wait until DH is home tomorrow night to have my fix.

So my evening will be put the clocks forward and scoot the kids off to bed early and then watch OITNB for the rest of the night! Grin

Hi @FauxFox that sounds like a lovely evening I wish we had a pier with free fireworks near by x

@inso awww sorry it's been one of those days. I had one the other day and I ended up "going for a wee" aka hiding in the bathroom for a good few minutes ha ha. I hope you have a lovely evening eventually x

Out for a curry with friends.
Dp is out for a curry with his friends.
Going to the same bloody place Grin
The dc have got friends round for movies/popcorn/sweets.

JeezYouLoon · 17/08/2018 17:53

I had planned to tackle the jungle aka our garden, however it appears to be raining and is very windy. So I'm liking your idea of a bubble bath instead WinkWine

CakeNinja · 17/08/2018 17:54

Gah inso I still can’t do lazy days inside with mine and the youngest is 6. Doesn’t matter how much we have done in the days previously, he’s likely bloody dog and needs to be released to charge about for a few hours even if he doesn’t think he does.
Otherwise he’s just plain annoying Hmm

DwangelaForever · 17/08/2018 17:56

Similar to you, 32 weeks pregnant with a breech baby and so uncomfortable it's unreal!!

Waiting on my cottage pie to be done in the oven, will dish that out then bathe and bed my toddler, run myself a bath and listen to my audiobook whilst I soak and maybe squeeze a Netflix ep in waiting on hubby finishing work (8pm) then me and him will probs veg out and Netflix too haha.

Bath is the only relief I'm getting atm!!

mumof2sarah · 17/08/2018 17:56

@CakeNinja awww least yous can get lifts together, save money on a taxi lol. Enjoy your curry xx

I know, lazy days are not the same with 2 kids under 6 Grin Ah well!

The bubble baths sound wonderful. We recently moved and now have a shower only. Sob. I definitely miss it.

@DwangelaForever Ooft! An uncomfortable time. Everything is an effort at that stage! Esp with a toddler, I remember it well. Enjoy your bath!

DwangelaForever · 17/08/2018 18:09

Thanks @mumof2sarah @inso I deffo underestimated how hard it would be with a toddler! Can't wait for my bath may even sneak in some chocolate 🙈 nesting has well and truly kicked in too and think I may have overdone the cleaning today!

MyGastIsFlabbered · 17/08/2018 21:18

Falling asleep on the sofa having driven back from holiday today (10+ hours in the car).

MrsPear · 17/08/2018 21:42

Contemplating bed. Flew back from Albania and h’s family. Got home at 5pm which was the best time ever - usually the times are horrid. Had take away - Chinese. Then packed again as I’m going to my mothers tomorrow with children. August is firmly family visiting time. And bloody tiring.

CakeNinja · 17/08/2018 23:22

Ha I was driving some of my friends this evening, no drinking for me!
Their table was next to ours and we asked to be moved Grin and dp still paid for my dinner, he’s a good egg really. Although after I dropped my friends home he did ask me to come back, pick them up and run them to the pub for more drinks. They stank my car out with booze fumes Envy

mumof2sarah · 18/08/2018 00:38

@MyGastIsFlabbered WOW that's a drive and a half I'd have been exhausted too. Hope you get plenty of rest tonight. Have a lovely weekend x

@MrsPear it sounds exhausting but must be so lovely and worth it to see family. Safe travels tomorrow and have a wonderful weekend x

@CakeNinja bonus his paying Star and bonus points to you for going pack and taking him to the pub. You both deserve gold stars for that.

I had a wonderful bath and read loads of my book, I've then not moved off the bed reading and on my phone. I think I'm getting an infection or a head cold of some kind and I feel rotten so doubt I'll be getting much sleep. I'm lay in bed staring at the street light shadow on my ceiling feeling slightly sorry for myself but knowing I'm blessed because I have my little family all safe and happy sleeping under our roof and that what ever this is will pass soon. I reflect on all that when I am feeling selfishly fed up etc and it really helps. Now all's I need to is try and sleep x
