Help to change energy providers.

Hi I'm with Npower and they have just raised my direct debit for my electricity and gas from £113 to £196! I really can't afford this.
Is it easy to switch providers? I've never done it before and I'm worried about under paying and ending up in debt. I've tried asking to change tariffs with Npower but there was only a few pounds difference.
Is there a simple way to change? Tia

Go to uswitch, it'll guide you through how to change suppliers.

Changing providers is so easy assuming you have online access.

I recommend going to Money Saving Expert - one of the best sites ever - and looking on their Cheap Energy pages. They normally list the cheapest deals and just follow the link and sign up. They even have a Cheap Energy Club where they will alert you when the tariff you're on starts to become too expensive.

They'll just normally ask for your personal information to make the switch and payment details of course. At some point you'll have to give meter readings. I switch normally each year once the good rate I have comes to an end.
