Joint bank account?

Been with my partner over 4 years, buying a house together soon. We’ve got all our savings in both names in a savings account,
But when do we get a joint account together, where both of our wages go into it etc?
Have you got one for your own, and one with your partner? Or just one account for everything?
Thanks

I never had a joint account at all and never would. But there's no wrong or right answer, it's what you're both comfortable with.

We both have our own accounts and pay out into a joint account to cover bills.

We have one joint account for everything.

We have seperate and a joint for bills but I wish we had just the one joint.

We both have our own accounts but have another joint account that we each pay allocated amounts into according to income. All bills and expenses come out of that. Works well for us!

We got one when we moved in together, which started as a household account - we worked out how much the rent was plus bills and a little over to spare, and transferred that amount in each month. Salaries were paid into our own accounts.

After we got married we decided to pool our money more, so now our salaries go into that joint account and we transfer out our own 'fun' money each month. We've got more joint expenses these days than separate ones so it made sense.

(Also, because my 'fun' money is one bank card and our 'sensible' money is another, there's less risk of accidentally ordering a round of cocktails to the joint account. Although I have to admit it has happened before... Grin)

we have one joint account where both salaries are paid into and bills come out of, then we have a joint savings account. always been this way, both have access to online banking although DH does lions share of finances, sometimes wish we had separate accounts though...

I've been married 15 years and we're only just now considering a joint account though we've been using one of my accounts as joint for years for paying in incomes and then paying out bills and to each of our other accounts. We each have a separate account plus my partner has an ISA which we use as joint savings as it's easier than dealing with US tax stuff for UK tax free savings accounts.

We have separate and he pays some stuff and I pay some stuff. We are quite relaxed over money.
