Nice school shoes for boys - do they exist?

Why are all school shoes for boys so ugly? Sad
Are there any (good quality) shoes that actually look nice?
Please share!

I agree. But yesterday I went to Sketchers with my son (we usually go to Clarks) and got some nicer than normal school shoes for the same price I usually pay.

I hate school shoes shopping.

Size? Roughly

I normally get Startrite (like the quality) but the styles are not inspiring me this time.
He'll be 11.5 I think.

On the flip side “girls” school shoes tend to focus on pretty, leaving those of us looking for practical shoes for our daughters looking at “boys” shoes.

Might be an option for you, OP.

I'm off to look at Sketchers...

Try treads shoes. They are online only. You measure yourself and check the size you need to order. They cone with removable insole for narrow /wide fitting/ accommodate orthotics. And they claim to be indestructible.
I haven't actually bought yet myself but I am planning to for ds this year.

I really like the look of Treads, but all sold out in DS’s size.

Have a look at vivobarefoot.. they’re expensive but my toddler ones from there are literally indestructible. They are also a UK company, sustainable and much better for your feet! I really like how they look and they’re a bit different...
