The mighty Ken Bruce is on holiday and Trevor Nelson is sitting in. Ken makes Pop Master seem so easy to manage, which is understandable the number of years he has done it, and you can relax in that nothing is ever going to phase him.

Trevor is a bit, well, clunky. I'm on the edge of my seat that nothing goes wrong, and he seems a little uncomfortable speaking to the contestants.

I can't deal with Trevor Nelson. I don't know why they think he works as a stand in. He is awful. I'm the same with pop master, it makes you just appreciate Ken that little bit more doesn't it?

Oh he's awful at it. And the chat beforehand is always so awkward. I think he's super nervous. Mind you the bloke that won today was so annoying, butting in

Now he's played Scenes From an Italian Restaurant as the poo song and I'll have it on my mind for about 4 weeks

Cannot bear Trevor

I like Trevor. He's the best stand in, although I liked Michael Ball when he did it.

There's no beating Ken though, except when Rob Brydon did his Ken impression on Pop Master. That was funny.

IMHO - they should play one of the three in ten songs after the quiz though.

Poor Trev got in a right flap today. The bloke who won was pretty unmanageable though, and seemed to forget that the listeners wouldn't mind hearing the question before he shouted out the answers.

Ken definitely wouldn't have let someone give a second answer after butting in without waiting to find out what was being asked! He's good at making small talk with very boring people too, which is a skill I admire.

Oh yes TN is rubbish at pop master!
I love it but have to turn it down when the contestants do their shootouts....'and everyone that knows me' it just makes me cringe

Oh yes! '... and everyone that knows me'! I've always said I'd refuse to do any boring shout-outs if I went on.

I can’t wait for Ken to come back, he’s such a professional & very funny, Trevor Nelson has absolutely no personality, he makes Zoe Ball sound good.

Is he back on Monday? Thank goodness. Can get back to enjoying the quiz instead of cringing and wishing it was all safely over.

I read somewhere that Trevor Nelson said that Pop Master was the most technically difficult piece of radio imaginable! I think Ken's just a consummate professional.

I absolutely love pop master, but when the contestants ask for a signed photo of Ken I can’t bear it! Why why why would you ask for that? I want to crawl under my desk and scream noooooooooooooooo

I hate the way that TN, rather than ask the contestants about themselves like ken does, just tells them in a very boring way what he's obviously just reading about themselves, he seems to have no people skills!

He was so awkward on Popmaster today. The annoying contestant kept butting in and mumbling, so couldn't hear his answers. Trevor made no effort to repeat them, so the whole section fell flat. That said, I love his selection of music!

Popmaster is kind of a so naff it's good guilty pleasure. I can never work out why the questions are 90% obscure 70s and then a random "who topped the chart in 2003 with Crazy Frog?!" Probably to throw the inevitable male in his mid-50s contestant off

And his chats with the contestants (especially the 2nd one) were toe curlingly awful and stilted
