We flew back home on Sunday and one of our two big suitcases didn't make it back with us. We registered it with missing luggage at Heathrow so it's in the system, I'm getting daily updates (which simply say 'still missing').
We do have travel insurance so if it never turns up I can put in a claim, I'm just wondering about the timescales. I read something online that says it's not officially lost until 21 days later - do I have to wait that long?? I think I need to lodge a claim with the airline as well.
Most of my summer wardrobe was in that case, and my daughter's clothes too, sigh. I'd love to hear from anyone who's been in this situation please - how long it took you to get a definite 'your suitcase isn't coming back' and how long it took to claim compensation?
