Amazon Fire won’t charge

Hi, we bought DS an amazon Fire tablet a year or two ago. When I put the charger in it says ‘charging’ and makes a beep noise that it is plugged in, but it won’t actually charge! Any one had this before? I’ve tried turning it off and on again etc, and charging it up whilst turned off, makes no difference.
TIA.

We just had exactly the same problem with ours. I contacted Amazon via their support page and they called me immediately then sent out a brand new one and asked me to send the defective one back. We’ve had it for almost 2 years. The guarantee seems to be pretty good!

I’ve had a couple that stopped charging. Amazon will replace it if it’s under a year.

Amazon replaced our DS’s fire after 18 months because it stopped charging. The thing was bloody knackered and scratched up, yet they happily replaced it with a new one. The live chat customer services were very helpful.

Wow! Thank you all so much, will definitely get in touch and see what they can do.

We had that. Returned it and they sent a replacement with exactly the same issue. Seems from the amount of people who have exactly the same issue that they just keep sending out ‘refurbished’ ones with faulty charging ports. Never found it very good when it did work either so and their customer service takes far more time than i have so just gave up and got an ipad which works great. Icing on the cake they then charged me £4 a number of months later as apparently i’d signed up to a monthly charge starting a year after purchase. So had to spend ages getting that cancelled too.
