How could this possibly happen...?!

So my friend has a new number, I hadn't saved her number yet, was just the digits but I knew it was her. A few days later I realised her contact details had changed to a really random word/name, just thought something she had done had changed it. Anyway, mentioned it and this random name is what she is stored as in her FWBs phone!

Both a bit freaked she texted him to ask him to change it in his phone then rang me but it was still the random thing. However when I rang her later on in the day it had changed to the new random name he had inputted

FWB has an iPhone, I have a Samsung. The only thing linking us is a work email we both have access to but no other contact names, both have a lot in common, have changed....

How, just how on earth, can this happen?!

In some phones, ie it says show Id when calling, then you need to write what you want your id to be, so she needs to check her own settings.

It's not your phone and his. It's her phone and yours.

But it's not her id, it's just what she's saved as in someone else's phone...

Sorry maybe I didn't explain it well, is she saved as that in her phone too?

My phone has a setting which asks if I want to show my Id when I call people, it then asks what I'd like that Id to be. She may have set it up, thinking it would only show when she called him, but she's inadvertently done it for all.

I somehow have a saved name as Chewie in my work phone no idea why, how it got there, but it only shows up when I call DH, or texts between us.

So weird!
