How much money do you have lying around at home?

Just that really.
I’m getting ready for holiday and so am putting together what we have left in relevant currency from last year, and I’ve just come across quite a few euro (we are not in U.K.) which I did not realise were there.
I feel slightly like I’ve won the lottery. It’s going into a rainy day tin.

As much as I safely can. But I'm prepping for zombie apocalypse, but maybe zombies eat money, who knows?

Anyway i don't trust banks, I don't like being told I can't save whilst on benefits by being super frugal (carers allowance for disabled daughter) and I don't like the fact the government can ask a bank what's in your account.
Also will the banks collapse with Brexit?
Probably not but I'm prepared either way.

I reckon if zombies attack you’re unlikely to be popping to the shop anyway TBH. There won’t be much to buy (plus walking there will be pretty risky).

I’m realising it’s probably a good idea to have a small stash in the car. It’d be a lot more useful than in the house.

I know I have a hundred dollar bill in the filing cabinet and there’s probably a few hundred euro around the house from holidays and trips to the south . Ds has £200 birthday money ready to be deposited in his bank account . He has about 30 gathered up from summer pocket money . Daughter doesn’t like to spend her pocket money so has about 50 ish in her dressing table . I found £50 cash in an envelope in the letter rack which I think was a gift from grandparents last xmas .

About £150 in coins and £50 in notes.

Equivalent of about £150 in local currency. I've just started a new job, and have no bank account. They give me cash advances instead. We'll be spending a lot if it today.

£245 in my daughters piggy bank and £20 in my jewellery box to go towards my next hair appointment:

I've got about €200, got for my birthday and left over from previous holidays. I collect coins and have about £50 worth of £2 coins which isn't many. .we have a change jar which probably has about £80 or so in it, we save that for Christmas. My ds has about £20 in change which he is saving towards a new game. And I have a £10 in my purse. That's actually quite a lot when you think about it.

Other than about a fiver in my purse, usually just a few two-pound coins and some pennies and twos in a box, that I use for things like buying a newspaper or a coffee (I make sure I've got most of the amount in 'real' money and then use about 20 or 30p's worth of smash to make up the amount).

I looked after a piano for a friend once and after a while we sold it. While dusting it before the movers came, I lifted the lid and there was £50 in notes under there Confused It had been played a few times since it came to live at mine, so the money definitely hadn't been there all along and didn't belong to the friend.

Boringly, we put it in the shared 'money for house repairs' bank account.

Between coppers and 5 pence pieces possibly 3 quid, and 23 US dollars.
