Is the Morning after pill I took, less infective ?

Hey,

If this isn’t not the appropriate place to put this, please get this moved.

I had sex on the Sunday, which was four days after the last day of my period. However the condom split. My ovulation timeline is between the 17th and the 22nd of this month, though my most fertile day is on the 21st.

I took the morning after pill on Monday.

Would the morning after pill still be effective ? I know the MAP is less effective a couple of days running to Ovulation and when your already ovulating.

If you took it on Monday you should be fine.

I took the morning after pill after the condom split too- I worked in a hospital and took it less than 11 hours after sex- I was ovulating too.... and I got pregnant!!! I had an abortion as I had tried everything to stop this happening and I didn't want a baby. I really
Hope you have a different outcome xx

Was I too late ? Should I get the emergency coil as a precaution ?

My baby was about 6 weeks old and my DH was booked in for the snip so we were using condoms.
It split .. or a tiny hole of some sort because there was a tiny leak. I took the morning after pill the next morning.
I fell pregnant, we now have twins.

It is always possible

Wow twins! I'm not sure what the emg coil is? I think it would be too late tho as today's Wednesday- maybe just wait and see I don't think there's any more you can do. I come from a really fertile family and so does my H so I knew I'd get pregnant straight away I just knew- you might be different? Have everything crossed for you!

I have until Friday for the emergency coil.

Fab can you get it fitted by then?

BertieBotts · 15/08/2018 14:58

The pill will stop you from ovulating, so it works if you take it before you're due to ovulate. If you take it after you've already ovulated it won't do anything.

Besides even if you do ovulate you only have about a 20-25% chance of getting pregnant each cycle.

Personally I don't think you need the coil but it's up to you.
