eBay item not arrived - refund?

Posted an item on 6th but buyer says it's not arrived. Should I offer a refund and chase it through the Post Office - I have proof of postage.

Ask the buyer to open an item not received request so that you can refund them.

You have 7 days to respond (ie refund) before the buyer can escalate to eBay.

Some buyers are serial non-receivers (not saying yours is) and by opening a request it leaves a record that an item didn't arrive so in the event that they "have a spate of bad luck" eBay have it on record.

Yes, if you do refund claim it back from Royal Mail, there's a form on royalmail.com that you can print and send off for compensation. Good luck!

Silly question but did you send it to the right house number? I once didn't receive an item and the seller sent me their proof of postage where I noticed they'd sent it to the wrong house number. Luckily the house still had the parcel!

Thanks both! I'll double check the address I sent it to!

Agree with checking the address.

DH had this with a buyer, despite DH having both proof of postage and proof of delivery.

Buyer had put their Nan's house by mistake! Grin

I had a buyer claim non receipt of an item. I had proof of posting and PO said it had been delivered. I told the buyer that I would refund but that the P.O. needed confirmation from them that the item hadn’t been delivered so that I could get a refund from post office.

Buyer then said “oh it’s ok it did arrive”! Chancer.....
