I'm always hearing how great they are and that they make the house smell fab.
Does anyone use any that they can recommend?

Really? They are bleach-obsessed and the houses mostly reflect that.

Sanytol, Method and lots of open windows will fix that

mintich · 14/08/2018 12:44

Yeah I've been reading about people keeping the mop and bucket close by as they smell so great! Not sure how they are different to any of our products

There's a spray here called Milagrito that lots of people use, comes in a pink bottle. But it's very strong and chemical smelling. I use it to spray on wee on the rug but it's probably not great for your lungs!
There was a woman here (Spain) recently who died after bleaching her kitchen for 2 hours solid. Inhaled too many fumes. Sad but ultimately not surprising.

I love the clothes washing products that are Marsella “flavour”
It always reminds me of Spain, we own a property there and if I wash clothes and bring them home sniffing them reminds me of holidays
The general cleaning stuff I get in Lidl so it’s the same as here

agedknees · 14/08/2018 15:49

I love the ironing spray they use. Have brought 6 bottles back home with me.

I agree with Quinto - it’s mostly bleach used here. However, Las Tres Brujas all-purpose spray cleaner from Mercadona is the best smell in the world IMHO. The jabón de marsella stuff just smells like Spain to me, too - everyone over a certain age’s house seems to smell of it

Well Wipp washing powder is pretty strong but I don't like. Often the smell of people's clothes there is so strong and reminds me of my old neighbours washing when we lived there. I used to use Desic for the floor when I lived in the campo. Very powerful and unsafe until dry but was the only thing to keep the scorpions, escolapendra etc out of the houseShock
I use the Tres Brujas floor cleaner, does the all purpose cleaner smell the same as that Girlin ?
I love the ironing water too. I have the one you add to the reservoir in the iron. I too have transported it home.

GirlInTheDirtyShirt · 14/08/2018 19:58

I’m not sure - I’ve only ever bought the spray version. I seem to recall that Wipp is just the same as Persil, or at least a sub-brand. I like how it smells on clothes though Smile

We use Marsella soap detergent on our clothes- the biggest one from Carrefour. DH bought bleach-laden floor cleaner last time he shopped and it smells godawful Envy i don't want to use it, but i don't want to waste it because...that's just a waste! Perhaps i could clean garden furniture with it. Bloody stuff reeks.

My SM loves La Toja shower gel and brings 6+ bottles back when she visits Grin

KenDoddsDadsDog · 15/08/2018 15:15

Marsella jabón , I’ll be stocking up to bring home .

elQuintoConyo · 15/08/2018 15:18

It has the loveliest, softest smell Ken . Anything else is too overpowering imho. Clothes shouldn't smack you in the face when you take them off the washing line.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 15/08/2018 15:47

Yes , I love the smell !

Lisaparker · 25/07/2020 20:15

Omg I am obsessed with the three witches bano spray and the asvei abriliantor detergent plus the blue 3 witches detergent bottle they are my fav by far

I was amused to see Nuclear washing powder in a Spanish supermarket (I'm in the industry). I didn't buy any but do they want to blast all germs and dirt out into oblivion?
