I fancy watching something light and funny. Any recommendations?

I watched leap year the other day and let out wee laughs every now and then. Although maybe that was amazon video not netflix.

Two weeks notice also good.

HollowTalk · 13/08/2018 22:17

Great, thanks - will look them up!

Set it up! I found it light hearted and funny. It's on Netflix

iloveyoutothemoonandback · 13/08/2018 22:22

I loved watching Jane the Virgin ( don't be fooled by the name) it's very light and funny!

Sijeunessesavait · 13/08/2018 22:29

Agree about Set it Up! Also The Intern - Robert de Niro and Anne Hathaway.

HollowTalk · 13/08/2018 22:43

I have seen all of these! I'm watching the Gilmore Girls - is it worth continuing?

Oh good, I'll watch those, thanks, @maplessglobe! I switched off Gilmore Girls - they were speaking too fast and what they said wasn't worth listening to!

Gilmore girls is just self entitled twattery. I cant bear to watch it now even though i loved the original. I just do not believe the storyline.

Ahem, anyway, back to your request... i watched like father. Not a rom com but quite entertaining, despite some of the themes. And kelsey grammar it has who is just a scene stealer imo 😁

comeagainforbigfudge · 13/08/2018 23:25

*bare not bear 🤦‍♀️

IAmTheWifeOfMaoTseTung · 13/08/2018 23:25

The Good Place is lots of good clean fun.

ChocAuVin · 13/08/2018 23:26

The Intern is just terrible! Sorry 🙈

Titsywoo · 13/08/2018 23:28

About Time is fab. Bit sad in one bit though.

IAmTheWifeOfMaoTseTung · 13/08/2018 23:29

Lala Land
Some Like it Hot
Keira Knightly Pride and Prejudice

Notmyrealname85 · 13/08/2018 23:30

Ditto to Some Like It Hot!

IAmTheWifeOfMaoTseTung · 13/08/2018 23:32

Also Colin Firth Pride and Prejudice, and Bride and Prejudice

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 13/08/2018 23:32

Emo the Musical - sort of Romeo and Juliet set to music in a secondary school. Sounds like total rubbish, was actually rather sweet. However there are some suicide references.

YessicaHaircut · 13/08/2018 23:35

We really enjoyed Like Father too. It’s pretty lighthearted and funny, and Kelsey Grammar is fabulous.

thejeangenie36 · 13/08/2018 23:56

For light and funny, you can't go wrong with old-time screwball comedies from the 30s and 40s OP. 'Top Hat' with Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, 'Bringing up Baby' (Cary Grant and a leopard) and His Girl Friday (Cary Grant and whip smart dialogue) are personal favourites.

JAPAB · 14/08/2018 00:17

"Love, Rosie", if that's still on there.

I have seen all of these! I'm watching the Gilmore Girls - is it worth continuing

Didn't particularly grab me until season 2, but then it did.

Languageofkindness · 14/08/2018 00:23

Me before you and Love Rosie - excellent, trashy rom coms!!

Corcra · 14/08/2018 00:32

Schists creak. It’s light and easy to watch with a couple of laughs.

Cleebope2 · 14/08/2018 00:35

I enjoyed Ibiza for a light hearted summer vibe flick.

IAmTheWifeOfMaoTseTung · 14/08/2018 08:03

None of those are on Netflix jeangenie. I’ve searched pretty hard for vintage content on Netflix and there are some war movies, the odd thriller but Some Like It Hot really is the only pre-1960 rom com on offer.

fourplusonemore · 14/08/2018 08:27

Set It Up is brilliant.
