I have a dentist appointment tomorrow BUT

My face has swelled tonight so I'm thinking an abcess?
What will they do??it's an emergency appointment so im assuming they wont do a root canal there and then?
Anti biotics??

I've always had to finish a course of antibiotics before they'll do a RC, yes.... bad luck!

I went and the dentist said she doesnt see any problem with my tooth, but the gum itself is swollen so she cleaned around it and put corysdol on it.. face is still swollen! Next appointment wednesday next weeek

Ooh, gum infections can be quite nasty - I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that that's all it is. I've just spent nine months finally having cracked tooth syndrome diagnosed, and am grieving the fact that one of my teeth will have to go... back molar, and it's a bad candidate for either RC or implantation, so I think it'll have to be a gap, or rather a larger area at the back before the teeth start.

Good luck with clearing up the infection, or finding out what it is if it isn't a gum infection (Corsodyl did work magic last time I had a gum i., but I wasn't swollen with it...)

I have a gap in my lower right, as the dentist reslly messed up the crown stub so the crown wouldn't stick, im thinking maybe to get a denture as its pretty hard to eat as fhw tooth next to it is going to need taking out in the near future :-( thanks for the chat!
