Missing out on the gin fad - Gin lovers convert me please

It's not the gin I don't like but the tonic.

What can I drink with gin and which gins are the best?

I usually drink Bacardi and coke or white wine/Prosecco. I feel like I'm missing out on the gin thing though.

Gin experts can you convert me.

If you don't like tonic I wouldn't bother. Don't fall for all the pink gin fad drinks. Absolutely rubbish. Gin is one of those things. You either like it or you don't. It's over anyway. Negronis are the thing these days. If you want to jump on a faddo it while it's still fashionable.

This is the thing, I have always liked gin, even before it was fashionable! I'm pleased that I have found lots of ways to enjoy besides just with tonic but that has been the best thing to come out of the fad! The worst is that a gin and tonic is now £££ whenever you go out.

I like gin but I am a heathen and drink it in fizzy Rubicon mango fizzy or Fanta exotic!

Gin tastes like petrol and he plain fever tree tonic tastes exactly like shweppes. I imagine them both being made in the same factory, and then getting different labels slapped on them.

I like tequila. Or rum. I'm excited for the rum trend!

Try gin and bitter lemon!

I started drinking tonic water (on its own) when pregnant and having horrible cramps - I had read somewhere that it helped. I detested it. Now I love it, I think it is nicer than Lemonade. You might develop a taste for it!

Rhubarb Gin with Ginger ale - tastes like sweets!

I'm not really a gin fan, but went on a night out to a gin bar with friends - told the barman I didn't really like gin and asked him to recommend one - it was a violet gin, with elderberry tonic and it was lovely.

I'd rather have a vodka, or wine

I have the same issue - it’s the tonic I don’t like. Like a pp I’ve discovered I’m rather partial to a gin and rose lemonade.

I thought I didn't like gin but its the tonic I don't like. I made rhubarb gin, strawberry gin and rose gin earlier this year. Quite nice with lemonade or soda water

Disown me now but I drink my gin with lemonade . It tastes much sweeter and I have a proper sweet tooth. Current fave is Gordon's pink gin with frozen berries.

If gins going out of fashion does that mean the prices will go down?

It's weird how these fads take over.

I used to drink Cava but now Prosecco is all the rage and also more expensive. I do prefer it to Cava now though.

The only gin I like is pink Gin with lemonade. I could drink buckets of it.

You need to go to a nice beer garden on a really hot day and then get a really hot bartender to make you the perfect G&T on ice...

Mmmm... currently breastfeeding and this is something of a fantasy right now!

BlueMoon, alcohol isn't harmful when breastfeeding. You would pass out from alcohol poisoning long before the amount of alcohol in your milk reached dangerous levels

I dunno, you haven’t seen me drinking gin!! I’m having a small glass of wine as a treat, I’m safe and comfortable with that!

Mulberry gin with soda

Marmalade gin with soda and a splash of OJ, if you're feeling adventurous add a measure of Cointreau

Damson gin with fentimans rose lemonade

Parma violet gin with soda or rose lemonade

Gin with elderflower liqueur and soda

Lemonade! Makes it much sweeter and imo nicer

I don't like tonic either however love gin so I have mine with elder flower cordial and lemonade or ginger beer or lemonade on its own or bitter lemon. Fever tree do some good mixers

Try pink Gin with lemonade and a dash of prosecco , it's called a pink spritz and it's very refreshing. Also fever tree Mediterranean tonic is amazing
