Workhorse vacuum cleaner (during house renovations)

Can anyone recommend one please? We're taking down walls, pulling up carpets, sanding floors, replacing windows, etc. and the dust, paint chips, (and the small bits of rubble) are proving too much for our Dyson handheld. If I could save the Dyson for the sofas and cobwebs, it might not die this week.

I'd like something that's easily cleanable too so that we can use it once we aren't living in a permanent dustcloud.

Whenever we've had work done the workmen always seem to have their own Henry hoover. Never had one myself but guess they can't all be wrong

Henry

I've got a cleaning company, and Henry is your friend.

I wouldn't use one for my house after renovations, but this is the time where he comes into his own.

Was going to say get a Henry.

Another vote for Henry, he's the epitome of a workhorse.

There's a reason that they are so popular with professional cleaners. I've had loads of animals over the years, and Henry has picked up hay, wood shavings, cat litter, etc, and is still going strong.

Karcher Wet & Dry Vac.

Henry is definitely a workhorse - we have one as well, but the Karcher is perfect for renovations as can be used in all situations. The storage is a lot bigger than Henry and it's lighter.

You can get some fab attachments for it and the filter can be washed out.

We got ours for £60 in the B&Q sale.
