It’s not just my toddler who listens to seemingly everyone BUT DH and me, is it?

Ffs. I did laugh at that very slightly but I promise you it was in solidarity.

Just laughs in my face half the time. I know a lot of it is down to tiredness (dropping the nap) but guuuuuurh.

Oh my god this is totally where we are too. DS is just 2 and just the most cheeky fucker ever. Luckily he is ever so cute but my god he drives me up the wall.

MiddlingMum · 13/08/2018 19:24

Totally normal I'm afraid.

MeanTangerine · 13/08/2018 19:25

Research indicates children ignore instructions about 40% of the time. On average. It's normal Sad

DD listens beautifully to MIL's friend, her Auntie who has an excellent teacher voice, and any of the nursery teachers. Anyone else is out of luck. I might as well be speaking a foreign language for all the response I get.

Mumoftwo12345 · 13/08/2018 19:30

My 2 & 4 year old just like this. My 4 y/o is an angel for her dad & stepmum too (apparently) Hmm

MissSusanSays · 13/08/2018 19:31

Mine is exactly the same. An angel for nursery and granny. I was slightly disbelieving if her first nursery report- which I did feel bad about. Apparently dhe’s The first to wash her hands before lunch and always does as she’s told. Who is this child?

Clearly not enough wine to go around here but I want you all to know I’m raising a glass and fistbump to you Wine

I’m with you. 4 and 2 year old behave impeccably for childminder, grandparents, aunts and uncles. Enter me, and they become screaming, whiny, heathens. They’re exhausting. I’m constantly bribing with lollipops, Pokemon cards and chip shop. Awful parenting, but I genuinely don’t know how else to get them to do anything I ask them to!

danni0509 · 13/08/2018 19:43

Mine doesn't even listen to anyone else. Just himself! Confused his the naughty one at school also Blush

Exhausting!

LittleMy77 · 13/08/2018 19:52

I thought it was just me! I actually took DS (3 next month) for a hearing test as I thought he might have hearing issues. Nope, he's just ignoring me.

HurricaneHalle · 13/08/2018 20:41

Hate to break it to you but my 6 year old blatantly ignores the "no, you can't" "no, stay here do not go off". The screaming rage inside of me is dying to escape.

HurricaneHalle · 13/08/2018 20:41

Meant to say that it doesn't always get better as they get older.
