Can anyone with more knowledge advise me please?
My ex and I own a house together-ex still lives in it.
My friend has asked me if she can move into it with ex and pay us her housing benefit.
Does this work? I've not claimed HB before and know little about it but I figured it wouldn't if with a live in landlord, but having said that I think I did know someone who did this before a few years ago.
My friend is on Universal Credit.My ex is also disabled and has a family member who claims carers allowance for ex-but this family member is going to return to work soon and not be able to do it anymore. My friend has said perhaps when she moves in she will be able to be the carer too-I assumed claiming Universal credit she wouldn't be able to do this but again, I know nothing about stuff like this.
Having typed all that I've realised-isn't there no such thing as other benefits now , everyone just gets universal credit, period?
