Sorry to disturb you on a Sunday.....

Today my hairdresser telephoned me to rearrange my appointment I have tomorrow (family emergency, she is a mobile hairdresser)

She started the conversation with saying ' sorry to disturb you on a Sunday'...

I haven't had anyone apologise to me for disturbing me on a Sunday for a very long time, Sunday to me now just seems like any other day of the week.

I do remember when growing up, that nothing was open on a Sunday and apart from church or a special occasion we stayed at home and you definitely did not telephone or visit (unannounced) anyone because 'it was Sunday.'

Do you treat Sundays as you would any other day or is your Sunday as I described above?

I'd say sorry if it was a business appointment, incl. hair appointments

I’m a childminder and very often parents will apologise for disturbing me at the weekend or on my day off. I appreciate the gesture.

I would apologise for disturbing someone on a weekend for business matters, yes.

Yes I always apologise if I get in touch with colleagues over the weekend. We do work in a sector where we are not expected to work over the weekend.

Yes, I'd expect an apology if something that is normally expected during the week - so I'd include all appts etc. in that - disturbed me on a Sunday.

I would apologise for disturbing someone's weekend, definitely. I also try to avoid calling at the weekend unless absolutely necessary.

How considerate of your hairdresser.
