Cleaner 5 bedroom house

If you have a cleaner what does she/he do and how long does it take them?
Not had a cleaner before but I have a lovely lady coming over next week to discuss the jobs I want done so I'm trying to gage what's realistic. We can't afford more than 2 hours a week at the moment so I'm thinking there is a limited amount she cam do in 2 hours. Looking at what other people's cleaners do to give me an idea so my expectations aren't too high or low Grin very excited at the thought of coming home to a lovely clean house.

If the lady is experienced she will tell you what she can do in two hours, then you can prioritise what you want done each week.

If the lady is experienced she will be able to tell you how much she can do in two hours, then you can prioritise what you want her to clean each week.

If I couldn't afford a cleaner to do the whole job, I'd prioritise the bits I don't like doing - kitchen and bathrooms. And dusting.

Hiya, I'm the manager of a cleaning company, and realistically in a 5 bed house in two hours we can get done all bathrooms, I'm guessing you'll have a few ensuites aswell? Kitchen, living rooms, hallways etc. And then any bedrooms that need doing may be put on a rotating basis week by week. Two hours may seem like a long time but it can be a struggle! I'd suggest talking through with your cleaner about what areas are most important to you, we find downstairs areas and all bathrooms are a must! And then work through for what else they think they can fit in? Hope this makes sense!

There is another thread about this in AIBU

I think a cleaner would need 4-5 hours to clean a 5 bedroom house thoroughly

So with just two hours you could do as a PP suggested and prioritise, ask for kitchen and bathrooms only, OR get them to dust and vacuum (but they wouldn’t have time to move things)

How about 4 hours a fortnight (instead of 2 hours a week) so they can do it properly?
