If you had a c. 500k budget, where would be good to buy on the coast no more than 2hrs drive from London? A sandy beach with safe swimming potential would be preferable. Two bedrooms minimum, and somewhere fairly family friendly, but not anywhere too city like eg Brighton. Anyone have any suggestions?

Dorset. Studland bay. Search Swanage and surrounding areas. Depending on which side of London you are it can be a relatively quick drive.

Also Westgate on sea near Margate.

West wittering. Perfect
