Children's School clothes -Teflon EcoElite treatment

I am a worried parent about the fact that most clothes for school have the Teflon EcoElite treatment added. It is more and more difficult to find pure cotton school trousers for example (and if you do they cost a lot ie. organic). John Lewis used to sell cotton things but now they have gone the route of teflon treatment as well. I wrote to the manufacturer and from a chemical perspective they said that" the finish chemistry is a water based dispersion of an alkyl urethane". Any thoughts anyone?

Hello, sorry I know this was a while ago but I've found exactly the same. I asked John Lewis to confirm it was safe for children and they weren't able to. The problem is most of the other companies selling schoolwear have gone down the same route. I found Matalan to sell uniform without it. I wonder what can be done?
