As, it appears, like many of his peers, DS would spend every waking moment gaming. In term time we have quite strict rules but I have been lapse this week as we returned from holiday and I have had a full on week for various reasons. But I am interested to hear tips about how others regulate use of consoles during the holidays. Any attempt at discussion usually results in strops and eye rolls so would like to hear your rules please.

DH's rule is "If they get outside for a good spell in the day then don't regulate the gaming time"

I had time limits (eg. 2 hrs/day) for yrs, when I was SAHP. That was a lot more work than DH's system.

Same as lijk's DH. My general rule is, you're not sitting inside on a console all day every day. I've told mine to make plans with their friends or they come out with me somewhere. They have also been 'strongly encouraged' to do a couple of summer activity camps.
