I'm struggling a bit. I've done all sorts of day trips with him and adventures. The only thing he really wants to do is play on the beach with other children. He wonders up to other kids and strikes up conversation/ initiates play but frequently gets knocked back. It really breaks my heart. I also don't know whether to encourage him wondering up to other children or keep him distracted. Most kids have siblings/ friends to play with. What do I do?

Talk to him about it and how it makes him feel. Surely there is also success. It's part of life getting rejected so talk to him about it and give it the life lesson. And if he likes the beach. Stay on it with him and have fun together. Make him laugh! Precious time when you have one on one holidays. Enjoy it.

If he's enjoying the beach and you are too I'd go with that!

As he's wanting company are there any kids activities where you're staying that you could join in with?
