DH and I are thinking about trying for DC2. The issue is a large number of the females in my husbands family suffer from sever mental health problem (the majority of them have been sectioned at some point). My husbands parents, aunts and uncles who should be enjoying their retirement are having to care for their sisters/daughters. They have to deal with abuse (physical and verbal) on a daily basis and I can see it is so difficult on them.
There is a good chance if we have a daughter she would have similar issues. Obviously there is no guarantee this will happen but there appears to be a high risk. WWYD in this situation? Part of me thinks we should just be happen with our DS but at the same time I come from a large family and hate the thought of my son being an only child.
