Wedding whilst renting

What's people's thoughts on getting married whilst living in a home that isn't your own? Is a mortgage more important than marriage?

I am bit confused why the two are linked.

If you plan to have DC and buy a home together then yes, getting married is usually sensible. I wouldn't delay getting married just because I didn't have a mortgage/own my own home.

Do you mean you want to spend thousands on a wedding? Getting married costs a few hundred pounds.
