Hello, I have never used this site before but have been recommended to see what peoples thoughts and opinions are. I am currently in a job that i am not enjoying, it gives me no stimulation or sense of satisfaction, i have been for an interview today for a job that sounds right up my street. However, it is only to cover maternity leave for potentially 1 year. I have had friends who have gone back to work full time after 9 months and those who have gone back part time after 1 year, so i am in a bit of a predicament as to what to do if i get offered the job.... Any advise would be appreciated.

Do it. I have had two maternity leave roles turn into full time. Once they see how great you are they will want to keep you.

As long as the overall reward package for the new role is the same or better than your current job, I would take it. It might or might not turn into a permanent job, but if it doesn't then you can look for something else. If you're not enjoying your current job you need to take hold of other opportunities.

Thanks for your replies :)

I do feel like i need to take the opportunity and if i prove myself and another vacancy becomes available within the company i will stand a better chance.

Sounds like it'll improve your vocational life and overall experience and quality of life.... do it. You never know where the next turn of your journey will lead... too much planning can backfire... keep moving. Stay in flow.., good luck and congratulations..
