Workmen using my toilet

Hello,
I know this probably may sound odd, but I would like to know what others feel. I am sick of workmen always using my toilet. This morning one rang the bell, and the first thing he said was can I use your toilet? It wasn't as if he had been here for hours , he just arrived. I don't know if I am strange but I hate workmen who never look clean using my toilet. I had just cleaned it over the weekend for the family and now I have to do it again. Is it mean to say no? What do others feel? Am I just being difficult? many thanks for your thoughts.

Here we go again...

Where do you want them to go?

OneForTheRoadThen · 16/07/2018 12:39

Yes you're being difficult. And snobby and rather mean.

W1neNot · 16/07/2018 12:42

I'm with you OP. Just ugh

purplecorkheart · 16/07/2018 12:44

Are they working for you or workmen doing roadworks etc? If they are working for you then I am afraid using the loo is part and parcel.

ThatWasTheWeekThatWas · 16/07/2018 12:44

If you say no, what do you expect them to do? Would you rather they piss in the bushes?

Toilets need cleaning every day anyway.

Sparklingbrook · 16/07/2018 12:46

One of your main objections was him wanting to use the loo as soon as he arrived. Why does that make a difference?

MrsJayy · 16/07/2018 12:48

He maybe travelled a distance and was desperate. Do you really expect people to not need the toilet?

chemenger · 16/07/2018 12:49

Maybe you could consult the previous twenty billion (approx) previous threads on this exact subject? Some people don’t care if workmen use their toilets, some people don’t really like it but accept that even workmen have digestive functions, some people only allow their immediate family to use their toilets and imagine that workmen don’t then pee in their garden or need to take long breaks to go to the toilet elsewhere. If they are your workmen then arrange for them to bring their own Portaloo. What did you think they were going to do? I use the toilet at work every day, sometimes soon after I arrive, why would workmen be different from other people?

MrsMotherHen · 16/07/2018 12:49

ok he can piss in your garden instead if your that botherd hire and provide a portable toliet.

MrsMotherHen · 16/07/2018 12:50

toilet**

PuppyMonkey · 16/07/2018 12:52

God, I'm desperate for a wee as soon as I arrive anywhere, it makes no difference how many times I go before I leave the house. Blush

He needs to use the loo, you have a loo - what do you think he's going to do in there, spread poo all over your walls? Hmm If you're having work done on the house, it's just one of those things that you have to accept imho. Or you could buy a portaloo for them.

niknac1 · 16/07/2018 12:53

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to use your toilet if they are working for you. If you’ve only just cleaned it is will be easier to freshen up once they’ve gone as you’ve just worked hard to give it a clean.

Many thanks for all the response. it was good of you. I have never ever stopped them, as that would be unfair.. I still don't like it, but I understand all your comments and I will continue to let them . I accept I am probably wrong in my viewpoint. Thanks for directing me.
