Just back from meeting up with a friend. It was my birthday last week so she very kindly presented me with a gift bag with a wrapped bottle inside - obviously a bottle of wine thought I. Anyway put it to one side and spent the afternoon chatting. I told her a neighbour had bought us a bottle of Pimms as a thank you for taking her to the hospital to see her husband but neither of us like it - infact I think I said I can't stand it. Well you've guessed it, I've just unwrapped the gift and it's a bottle of Pimms. I really don't know how to broach this. If the situation was reversed, I'd have laughed and said "oh god, give us that gift back, I'll get you something else". I wish she'd said something. WWYD?
