Please help, I am getting married at local registry office for the first time. Am I being silly in wanting to wear long ivory wedding dress orvam I too old?

No you aren’t. It’s your wedding and you should wear whatever makes you happy. Congratulations!

BestBeforeYesterday · 18/06/2018 05:49

Why ever not? Wear what suits you best and what makes you happy. I've been to a wedding where the bride was 50 and she looked great in a very traditional wedding dress.

It's your (and the groom's) day- wear what makes you happy.

Wear whatever you want. You are absolutely not too old.

Latinmeadow25 · 18/06/2018 16:30

Thank you ladies, my dear mother told me I would be “mutton dressed as lamb” and to “grow up” that I wasn’t a teenager. Had a real wobble

That's just the sort of thing my mum would say OP - ignore her and be happy Smile

Shockers · 18/06/2018 18:24

Hope your day is wonderful. I can almost guarantee that your mum will shed a sneaky tear on the day too Wink.

SilverHairedCat · 18/06/2018 18:26

Your mum is mean. You'll look lovely, can we see your dress?

murree · 18/06/2018 18:27

My mum is getting married for the second time next year, she will be 69 and is wearing a lovely lace wedding dress - so no your not too old!

C2205 · 18/06/2018 18:28

My Nanna got remarried when she was in her late 50's and had a beautiful white wedding dress - she'd not had "the dress" before so fulfilled her dream! Go for it you will look stunning and as others have said it's your day. Congratulations and enjoy xx

Notamorningperson84 · 18/06/2018 18:28

Ignore your mum. You're the bride, you should wear whatever makes you feel good.

DippyDiplodocus · 18/06/2018 18:30

Do whatever you bloody like! It's your day, enjoy every second Grin

Starlighter · 18/06/2018 18:30

Of course you’re not too old for a wedding dress! There are some beautiful dresses out there. Get yourself to a wedding dress shop and they’ll help you pick something out.

It’s your wedding day, you’re the bride, embrace it!

Fluffyears · 18/06/2018 21:18

Don’t be daft every bride deserves the dress she wants. I feel like getting kind out just to stroke it as it’s beautiful and now just stuck in a wardrobe :(

Latinmeadow25 · 20/06/2018 17:43

Ladies thank you so much, the white floaty dress is staying and I am just going to enjoy myself.

Good for you Latin. It is a special day and you want to look and feel wonderful. I was a first time mature bride who had a small scale modest wedding. I still wanted to feel like a bride on the day. I wore a champagne bridesmaid dress. Still weddingy without being OTT. I still like looking at the photos 15 years later. Wear your floaty dress if i makes you feel happy. I hope you have a fabulous day.

H0meadayearly · 23/06/2018 11:24

It's your day, wear exactly what you want to. You only have one life
