WWYD if someone parked in front of your gated drive, meaning you couldn't use it? Day two now...

You can report it to DVLA for no MOT I think

TingleTots · 12/06/2018 20:23

Ah Nanasueathome just checked and apparently I phone 101 to report it, thank you
Downeyhouse Why, thank you Grin taking a bow

Is your car blocked in, or is your drive empty and you’re unable to get into it? Different rules (used to?) apply. Not sure of status quo.

If your car is in the dive and you’re prevented from getting out, you can have it towed. If you’re being prevented from using it but can still drive off, there’s nothing that can be done.

I’d empty a bag of chips in the roof and let the seagulls get involved. Shove some tinned tuna into the air con intake grills. Banana up the exhaust pipe (ooer). Silly but satisfying stuff like that!

TingleTots · 12/06/2018 20:29

Thankfully the car is not up the drive but they don't know that as you can't see in

I was thinking about tuna tricks earlier but I don't know where the right place to shove it would be Grin

I would just smash the window and take the hand brake off. Who's to know who did it!!! I wouldn't be waiting 2 days.

TingleTots · 12/06/2018 20:34

Pottery you're my kind of person, I'd love to do this but I'm a wuss

Fabulous diagram OP, really top notch.
Can you see the car from your house? Be a shame to miss it if anyone turns up to tow/ claim it!

Aprilshouldhavebeenmyname · 12/06/2018 20:58

Long shot but is it locked? Handbrake off and bump it away with another car...

buckeejit · 12/06/2018 21:24

I'd print off your diagram & laminate it before putting it under the wiper.

LapdanceShoeshine · 12/06/2018 21:27

No MOT is a £100 fine for a start!
Our local police twitter is always posting pics of cars they’ve stopped while driving & issued fines for.
Tell them it’s got no MOT, they’ll definitely be interested Smile
(May not have insurance either. Even better!)

TingleTots · 12/06/2018 21:28

I have taken the very sensible option of calling 101, laying on thick that I can't get my pram through the tiny gap the driver has left into my house (I don't have a pram), and it has been put as a priority to be removed Grin

I am also sitting with my front door wide open so that I can hear any noise easily and watch Grin

OP posts:
TingleTots · 12/06/2018 21:29

Oh and yes, they were interested in the lack of mot!

LapdanceShoeshine · 12/06/2018 22:06

Mind you I once reported an apparently abandoned car parked across the road from us - not blocking any drives or anything, but badly parked so it was preventing 2 other cars from parking (terraced houses here & 6th form centre round corner, parking is scarce).

It had no tax or MOT - & it was damaged, so clearly abandoned - & it still took weeks for anyone to come & move the bugger. Hope yours will be dealt with sooner! Flowers

Aprilshouldhavebeenmyname · 12/06/2018 22:11

Tomorrow your wheelchair bound dm is visiting isn't she op?
Another call needed I would suggest.

TingleTots · 12/06/2018 22:29

Yes April and when my fat DH can't get out for work in the morning I'll have to call again GrinGrinGrin

I really hope it is soon. I also mentioned that my car insurance is based on my car being up that bloody driveway!!

Pram.- Genius

BlueEyedBengal · 12/06/2018 22:57

Oh love a parking thread, watching how this turns outShock

TingleTots · 13/06/2018 07:27

I'm so annoyed that I have to work today and twatdriver might move it without being seen!

OP posts:
Aprilshouldhavebeenmyname · 13/06/2018 10:26

Hire a skip and get the driver to shunt the car away from your drive.

calamariqueen · 13/06/2018 11:58

Your local authority might be able to collect it as abandoned more quickly than the police- worth asking Smile

TingleTots · 13/06/2018 12:12

Thanks Calamari, will try that!

EveningHare · 14/06/2018 18:08

Rachie1986 · 14/06/2018 18:25

JakeBallardswife · 14/06/2018 18:29

What a wonderful diagram, but we need a conclusion!
